Response to John Rachel, an American expatriate living and working in Japan and an environmentalist who “cultivates his garden” as Voltaire suggests at the end of “Candide.” “Candide” is one of the best ever books. My Dad, a bit of a rebel read “Candide” in high school – why – because it had been banned. He proudly told me he had been kicked out of Cleveland Heights High for a week after having read this book!

John is an author extraordinaire who has written many wonderful books, one of which I am currently reading and will review as promised. I’m enjoying John’s “Love Connection,” “Romance in the land of the Rising Sun.” One fantastic thing I can say about John’s writing is his great gift of the English language which I think he uses to help readers build their vocabulary.

So, according to Google, “Solipsism” refers to a psychological state in which a person feels that reality is not external to their mind. Periods of extended isolation may predispose people to this condition.”
Spot On John!!! You also are a winner and will get a copy of “Traveling Our Road.” Certainly “Traveling Our Road” resulted from my many years of isolation.
