You have a nice, neat handling of narrative that really succeeds in conveying internal mind states washing on the shore of external reality. It’s a gift to nurture, because it works. Here you evoke from the reader (me) memories of too many moments (tic toc, tic toc) suspended in that purgatory between dread and, really, well it’s not in between anything. It’s suspension in dread, alone in sadness that wants not to be validated with facts.

It takes courage to go into those places and come back out with a magic spell of words that can conjure the same feelings in another heart. Well done.
